Betty Akeredolu, the former First Lady of Ondo State, has compared the just concluded US election to the 2023 Nigeria election.
Akeredolu also shared her observation following the comparison.
She wrote on X: "Just thinking. 2023 Nigerian Presidential Election
Total Votes Cast: 25 million
Counting Duration: 5 days
"2024 U.S Presidential Election
Total Votes Cast: 155 million
Counting Duration: Approx. 10 hours
"Moral: When dishonesty is prioritized, simple things become difficult."
When she received heat from some quarters for her statememt, she hit back and accused her critics of attacking her because of her tribe. She added that even her late husband was not spared from the "Igbophobia" because of his association to her, an Igbo woman.
