The Mayor of Oyi Local Government Area, Hon Emma Nweke - IGA has joined world leaders, parents, guardians and teachers all over the globe to celebrate the 2024 International Student Day with students in Oyi Council Area.
Speaking on the theme of this year which centers on "Students As Change-Makers For A Better World", Hon. Nweke in his felicitation message eulogize the dynamism and determination of the Nigeria students to make progress and birth new innovations.
He acknowledged their passion, resilience and doggedness in working hard to succeed and finish strong as a catalyst for the much anticipated change and development in the society and the country.
He implored the students to shun social vices and avoid negative behaviours and associates that will jeopardize their future, noting that they are not only agents of change in the society but leaders of tomorrow.
Hon Nweke commended the Anambra State Governor, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo CFR, for taking the leading in the country in transforming the education sector in the state, noting that the Soludo's Education Reforms will help open more opportunities for both teachers and students, hence, unlocking more hidden potentials and creating a brighter future for Ndi Anambra.
The Oyi Council Boss reiterated his commitment to youth empowerment and assured his readiness to partner with relevant stakeholders to support the students strive in their academic pursuit by providing a conducive atmosphere where every Oyi student can effectively pursue their dream and succeed in their various choice of vocation.
