A two-year-old girl d!£d after she was found unresponsive inside a car in a town centre car park.
Emergency services were called to the Cassowary Coast Regional Council chambers carpark in Queensland, Australia, yesterday afternoon, Nov. 25. They attempted to resuscitate the child and she was rushed to Innisfail Hospital where staff attempted CPR, but she could not be revived.
Now police have revealed they are investigating after they found the child appeared to have been left alone for a “significant period of time”, as temperatures in the town hit 30C.
Superintendent Mick Searle spoke to media, saying: “It appears the child had been in the vehicle by herself for quite some time and the parents were away from the car at the time the child was found.
“We’re now conducting a very complex and detailed investigation in relation to this matter. We’re being assisted by the family and other specialist police, and that investigation will continue for quite some time.”
The officer added that support was being provided to the family and friends and the local community.
